Flu season is upon us and the Alamance County Health Department wants you to protect yourself and your family.
This year, the health department will be providing the following trivalent flu vaccine options to the public:
The vaccine is available while supplies last. One shot is all most people will need. Children under age 9, who have not previously been vaccinated against the flu, may need two doses.
Most insurance plans including Medicaid/Medicare will cover the cost for FLU vaccines. Those 18 years of age and younger who are uninsured or underinsured will be able to receive a vaccine for no charge as part of the Vaccine for Children Program.
Uninsured or underinsured adults (19 years of age and older) may be required to pay a fee for the flu vaccine on the day of the visit.
CDC recommends everyone 6 months of age and older receive an updated 2024-2025 influenza (flu) vaccine.
